What is the treatment?

Before your treatment, we’ll take a full medical history, explain the procedure in detail, and obtain your consent.

Pre-treatment photographs are taken for your records. Your practitioner will assess facial muscle movement to determine precise injection points, cleanse the skin, and administer a series of small, targeted injections.

Aftercare advice will be provided both verbally and in writing.

How long does it take?

The injections themselves typically take around 10 minutes, depending on the number of areas treated. Including consultation, consent, and aftercare advice, please allow approximately 30 minutes for your full appointment.

Will I look unnatural after the treatment?

No! One of the reasons this treatment is so popular is because of the subtle improvement in your appearance.

Friends may comment on how relaxed and refreshed you look — the treatment will not radically alter your appearance; it will simply reduce muscle activity. The final result is tailored to each patient.

Is there anyone the treatment is not suitable for?

Yes. This treatment is not suitable for:

Individuals with an active infection at the injection site

Those with a known allergy to Botulinum toxin type A

Individuals with impaired healing, such as those with immunosuppression

Those with muscle disorders such as Myasthenia Gravis or Eaton-Lambert Syndrome

Children under 18 years of age

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding

What are the possible side effects?

Most side effects are mild and temporary.

These may include:

Slight headaches

Small red marks at the injection sites (which usually fade within hours and can be covered with makeup),

Occasional bruising.

To help prevent bruising, ice packs are used before and after treatment, it is advisable to avoid Vitamin E and anti-inflammatory medications for one week prior.

Some clients may experience flu-like symptoms or headaches, which can be managed with paracetamol. Rarely, one eyebrow may feel slightly heavier post-treatment, but this effect is temporary. On the positive side, some clients notice relief from tension headaches as forehead muscles relax.

A full medical history will be taken and consent obtained prior to treatment. If you choose not to continue, muscle activity will gradually return and lines will return to their natural baseline.

Post treatment advice

Stay upright for 3-4 hours following treatment.

For 24 hours following treatments do not massage the area, avoid exercise, avoid make up.
